Facial Autograft Muscle Injection or FAMI as it is more commonly referenced is a non-surgical fat transfer procedure to rejuvenate facial volume deficiency.
Repairing facial volume loss due to muscle shrinkage generally requires a fat transfer procedure like FAMI. Facelift-type procedures performed in these cases often result in an undesired, unnatural appearance. FAMI delivers long lasting results that include a symmetrical, fuller and more youthful appearance. A fat transfer of your own fat is not perceived as a foreign substance by your body so FAMI presents no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection.
Micro Liposuction is used to suction fat for the fat transfer from another part of your body such as your abdomen. Micro Liposuction is just as effective as traditional liposuction. The term micro means that a smaller cannula is used and is overall less invasive, with less recovery and downtime. Your extracted fat is then processed and cultivated into a consistency appropriate for injections. Special surgical tools, developed for this procedure, are used to administer the fat transfer into the core of your main muscle groups. These muscles are most likely to integrate the new cells with the existing cells.
Generally fat transfer candidates have sunken areas or have “skeletal” facial features. Patients with generous sagging may most likely need a lift first to remove the excess skin. However, after the folds are repaired, FAMI may be an excellent procedure to provide a softer overall appearance and further enhance desired results.

Under local Anesthesia, fat was removed from the abdomen, processed and injected into the areas marked.
