Is Cosmetic surgery right for me?
Saddle bags, love handles, belly pouch, double chin; these are the most common areas for liposuction. Liposuction (also called lipo sculpture, lipo selection, or just plain laser lipo) involves removing fat from unwanted areas.
The doctor will review your concerns, help you determine if liposuction is right for you, and discuss your alternative options.
Most procedures are done with some form of sedation, which may be oral or intravenous. The amount of recovery time is based on the amount of fat removed. In a small area, like arm or neck liposuction, there is very little discomfort, and essentially no recovery period. For larger areas such as the abdomen and love handles, most people plan for 2-4 days off of work.
Liposuction is a very common cosmetic surgery procedure. Liposuction has gone through 2-3 generational changes over the past 15 or so years. Advances have included improvements in local anesthetic techniques, which have remarkably reduced post-surgical pain and bruising. Then followed advances in ultrasound-assisted liposuction that allows more thorough and even fat removal. In this decade, the biggest advance is laser liposuction. The laser also potentially allows for more thorough fat removal and more evenness, with the added benefit of better skin retraction, and less post-surgical discomfort. For people who do not want to undergo surgery, mesotherapy (lipodissolve) might be an attractive option as it involves a series of injections into the fat. The solution breaks up the fat cells, reducing or sculpting the specific area.
Breast enhancement surgery or Breast Augmentation is one of the most common cosmetic procedures. If your breasts are droopy, have deflated after pregnancy, or have been smaller than your ideal body image all of your life breast enhancement surgery can help you achieve the look you want. Breast enhancement surgery is done with saline or silicone implants. There are several techniques for putting in the implants. TUBA stands for Trans Umbilical Breast Augmentation in which the implant is inserted through a very small incision in the belly button. Axillary or through the armpit is also another technique, both are considered “Scarless” breast augmentation.
Tummy Tuck, Combituck
Tummy Tuck, also called abdominoplasty, removes excess skin from the lower belly. The most common reasons for a tummy tuck are lose skin after childbirth and lose skin from weight loss. Combituck is a more modern advanced procedure that allows us to remove much more fat from the belly during the tummy tuck. With the Combituck procedure, the recovery is days instead of weeks, no surgical drains are needed, there is much less discomfort, and a more natural appearing midsection.
The facelift refers to the area of your mid and lower face as well as the neck this treats saggy jowls, turkey neck, and lose facial skin. The facelift involves an incision that is ideally hidden in the hairline and inside the ear. Typically, only your hairdresser can see the scar when it is healed.
The facelift surgery uses a permanent fixation, but you will continue to age, so you can’t think of it as lasting forever.
For people who are not ready for a facelift, Thermage is a non surgical procedure that causes the skin to lift and tighten, and may be an option for you.
Eye lid lift
For lose eyelid skin, the eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) is a minor surgical procedure that takes away extra eyelid skin. In our office, this surgery is done with no scalpel; instead we use a laser or radiofrequency device to cut, giving the doctor more control and precision when removing the skin for better results. The eyelid lift is performed for a variety of reasons. Some people have such lose skin, that it actually impairs their vision. Most commonly people have eyelids that make them look tired, sad, or worn out. With the eyelid lift, you will look refreshed, bright eyed, and more alert.
The Mommy Makeover is for women who want to get back some of their curves, perkiness, and sexuality that they may have sacrificed for the love of having children.
This may include:
Breast enhancement for deflated breasts.
The Combituck (newer tummy tuck) for your stretched out belly, can get your waist and figure slim again.
Laser liposuction is used to permanently remove areas of unwanted fat.
The G Spot enhancement is an injection to help you have more intense, fulfilling deep vaginal orgasms.
Hormone Therapy if you feel like your hormones are no longer in balance.
